I-Form Co-Hosts National Standards Authority of Ireland Technical Committee on AM

I-Form, the Research Ireland Centre for Advanced Manufacturing, was proud to co-host the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) Technical Committee on Additive Manufacturing (AM), alongside Irish Manufacturing Research (IMR). This collaborative event focused on the critical role of standards in supporting the rapid growth and industrial adoption of additive manufacturing technologies.
Standards are essential in ensuring consistency, quality, and safety as AM continues to scale across industries. By actively engaging with the NSAI Technical Committee, researchers and stakeholders are not only staying informed on the evolving standards landscape, but also contributing to shaping its future direction.
The event showcased how these standards are being embedded into real-world research and development. A key highlight of the day was a guided tour of IMR’s state-of-the-art facility, where attendees explored the cutting-edge innovations emerging from both the IMR and I-Form research teams.
Participants had the opportunity to interact with leading researchers, discover pioneering developments in AM, and gain insights into how national and international standards are influencing the next generation of manufacturing.
Special thanks to FactoryXChange for providing the funding for the event.
We are grateful to the NSAI for their continued collaboration and look forward to future initiatives that support the industrialisation of advanced manufacturing through robust research and standards integration.
