I-Form has over 50 PhD and postdoctoral researchers across seven research intensive institutions, all of whom are carrying out cutting edge research in the fields of materials processing and the digitalisation of manufacturing.
There are many ways for companies to interact with I-Form to pursue research. These projects can vary in scale from a single PhD student to a team of researchers.
I-Form is very well networked nationally and internationally, and there are several funding mechanisms available for the Centre to work with industry, including, but not limited to:
- Direct, fully funded sponsorship of a research project
- Co-funding between industry and I-Form (via SFI Centre grant) on a project scoped by the industry partner
- Irish Research Council Enterprise Partnerships (competitive)
- Enterprise Ireland Innovation Partnerships (competitive)
- Individual PhD sponsorship via the EPSRC-SFI Centre for Doctoral Training in Advanced Metallic Systems
- European funding targeting SMEs, such as the EIC Accelerator programme under the European Innovation Council (competitive)
- European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Manufacturing projects (limited competitive)
- Other national funding mechanisms (e.g. Disruptive Technology Innovation Fund) (competitive)
- Other EU and international funding mechanisms
