Education and Public Engagement
The Education and Public Engagement (EPE) programme at I-Form is a fundamental component of the Centre’s overall work, and is an area which is valued very highly amongst our team members and partners. We believe it is vital to share the outcomes of our research, inspire the next generation, listen to public input, explore the societal implications of advanced manufacturing and respond to societal needs and concerns through our research. As a publicly funded research centre, I-Form recognises the profound value this engagement brings to both society and the research ecosystem.
Through a structured programme of targeted EPE activities aligned with our research themes - from 3D printing to artificial intelligence and beyond - I-Form strives to deliver meaningful, high-impact interactions that benefit both our team members and our audiences.
Core components of I-Form's EPE programme include the delivery of education initiatives with schools and community organisations, as well as involvement in a wide range of local and national general public events. While recognising the value of these traditional outreach activities designed to inform and inspire, our EPE strategy also places an emphasis on driving deeper engagement through Engaged Research - a collaborative approach to conducting research that actively involves societal partners throughout the research process.
