Blánaid Fogarty is a PhD researcher at I-Form, based at SETU Waterford, and is also affiliated with the South Eastern Applied Materials Research Centre. She obtained a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Physics for Modern Technology from SETU Waterford in 2024. Her research focuses on the inkjet printing of nanomaterials to develop flexible, printable devices. Blánaid’s research interests include additive manufacturing, nanomaterials, materials science, and electronic devices, with a particular emphasis on their applications in sustainability.
Technical Summary
The research focuses on optimising the inkjet printing process, a scalable additive manufacturing technique, for the production of flexible electronics and energy storage devices. By refining key printing parameters and post-processing conditions, the study aims to enhance the quality and performance of printed nanomaterials. Various characterisation techniques are employed to examine how printing parameters affect material properties such as conductivity and uniformity, with the goal of improving the efficiency and reliability of printed devices.
