Feargal Ó Móráin retired from his position as Executive Director, Enterprise Ireland in 2012 following a career in the industrial development agencies in Ireland. Prior to his retirement Feargal was responsible for a range of functions in Enterprise Ireland including Corporate Strategy and Corporate Affairs; the Agencies extensive portfolio of investments in equity funds and client companies and Research Commercialisation/R&D. The latter role involved responsibility for implementing the agencies national mandate of promoting the commercialisation of research being undertaken in Third Level Institutions in Ireland, encouraging/funding collaborative commercially oriented research between industry and these institutions and promoting in-company research by EI clients (agencies annual budget for these activities was in the region of €150m).
Feargal previously co-chaired the US/Ireland R&D Partnership and an expert panel for the national Springboard funding programme.
He is also a former member of the Governing Authority of the University of Galway.
