I-Form on the international stage at TMS 2024 Conference

I-Form were proud to sponsor and present at the recent TMS 2024 conference - the annual meeting and exhibition of The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society - from March 3-7 in Orlando, Florida.

The TMS Annual Meeting & Exhibition brings together more than 4,000 engineers, scientists, business leaders, and other professionals in the minerals, metals, and materials fields for a comprehensive, cross-disciplinary exchange of technical knowledge.

During the conference, I-Form Deputy Director Professor Dermot Brabazon showcased our commitment to cutting-edge research with two original research presentations, covering topics including machine learning and digitalisation in metal additive manufacturing.

In addition, Prof. Brabazon provided the welcome address to attendees at the Materials Processing and Manufacturing Division (MPMD) Luncheon, which was sponsored by I-Form. Professor Dierk Raabe was the invited presenter at the luncheon, giving an excellent presentation on the sustainability of materials processing.

Prof. Brabazon said; “It was an honour to present I-Form activities to international colleagues at the TMS conference this year. The TMS conference is a superb event which facilitates very well the sharing of the latest insights into material processing, affords many useful networking opportunities and provides a forum for creative discussions and thinking for future research directions and projects.”

It was extremely valuable to participate in several days of cross-disciplinary exchange, and to contribute to the dialogue amongst world-leading experts of the global minerals, metals, and materials community.
