Island of Ireland manufacturing excellence on show at CIRP General Assembly

The CIRP General Assembly -  the preeminent international gathering of  leading academics and industrialists in advanced manufacturing - was hosted at University College Dublin from 20-26 August 2023.

CIRP – the International Academy for Production Engineering – is now in its 72nd year, and this year’s CIRP General Assembly involved collaborations and discussions on cutting-edge advanced manufacturing research in areas such as digitalisation, automation, additive manufacturing and sustainable manufacturing.

The selection of Dublin as the host city for this year's Assembly – the first occasion that the General Assembly has been hosted in Ireland – highlights Ireland's exceptional contributions to high-technology manufacturing, and the importance of manufacturing for the Irish economy.

As part of the CIRP General Assembly this year, I-Form exhibited along with five other organisations at the 'Island of Ireland Manufacturing Excellence Showcase'. This exhibition helped demonstrate to CIRP delegates Ireland’s strengths in advanced manufacturing research, and included examples of cutting edge manufacturing research from academic and technology centres both north and south of the border.

Joining I-Form in exhibiting at the showcase included;
